Who We Are
jazzology
Jazzology is a jazz, funk, and fusion band founded in late 2023. It began as a duo consisting of guitarist Krsman Petrović and pianist Nemanja Vračarić. Their collaboration started as a friendship, which proved to be an excellent decision over time. As they evolved, they decided to expand the lineup, welcoming bassist Vuk Stojkić, who further enriched the band’s sound. The band reached its final form with the arrival of drummer Ilija Starčević.
While working as a duo, they began composing original songs, from which Nothing Like Midnight, Danube Blues, and Take 4 emerged. During a brief period as a trio, they created Crazy Cats. In the quartet phase, the band wrote additional compositions, including Downtown Groove, Wrong Direction, Blue Bud, and many others, now totaling around twenty.
Even as a duo, the band received an invitation to perform at the Bansko Jazz Festival in Bulgaria on the young talents stage, along with three additional performances on different festival stages. Their first experiences performing together began with school concerts, soon progressing to playing in jazz clubs in Belgrade and Smederevo, and eventually across Serbia. After several successful performances, the band was invited to the Cultural Summer festival in Smederevo, where they thrilled the audience and shattered prejudices about their age, as reported by the media. Their final performance of the 2024 season took place at the Belgrade Winter festival on December 29, on the stage in Knez Mihailova Street, Belgrade.
In mid-2025, bassist Vuk Stojkić left the band, marking the end of an important chapter in Jazzology’s development. Toward the end of 2025, drummer Ilija Starčević also departed from the band, and his position was taken over by Andrej Tričković, whose arrival brought new energy and a fresh rhythmic approach to the group. While the lineup has evolved over time, each former member remains an important part of the band’s history and artistic growth.
